Stephanie Fantasy Crown is one of my all-time favorite games. It’s a hidden object and role playing game about a girl who gets kidnapped by the demons. There are several versions of this game for different platforms, but the PC version has stood the test of time. The story revolves around an ordinary girl named Stephanie who is found asleep in a house by her stepmother after she had been brutally attacked by three men. She awakens to find that she is missing her head.
Stephanie is immediately set free, but soon realizes that she is surrounded by creatures that have taken over the place. As she starts to wander the house, she finds herself surrounded by an army of evil creatures. Only Stephanie can help her fight her way through them to find help and a way back to her own home. If you enjoy hidden object adventure games, then you will love this game. If not, well, you’ll have to search the internet for another game that interests you.
As you go through the game, you’ll notice that each level has something different going on. For example, the first level is quite the mystery as Stephanie is asked to find a stuffed toy that has a beautiful picture inside of it. When you finally do find it, there is no toy; however, the picture is very life-like. There are also some puzzles to solve while on the second level, including things like finding the right tile for the right door.
Stephanie has the ability to change clothes, which she only does while on the beach. This adds a nice little element to the game that makes it more fun to play. However, in the next level, she has the choice to change back into her pirate costume. It looks as though she has undergone a makeover and now has a tattoo peeking out from behind her back. In the final level of the game, Stephanie must choose between changing back to her normal clothes (in white), or her pirate outfit (which consists of a pirate hat, bandanna, scarf, knife and anchor).
Stephanie has a dream house, complete with an aquarium and lots of fish in it. This is where the story of Stephanie’s Crown begins. You can see the fish swim around the tank and watch Stephanie feed them. The kids can also step up to see how well Stephanie takes care of her fish.
The controls for Stephanie Fantasy Crown are simple. Using the keyboard is necessary, and holding Control is a necessity so that you can watch what is happening. Using the mouse will move Stephanie around the screen, but holding Control will allow you to look at the entire picture. There are also options available to play with sound, but for the most part, the sound just adds to the fun.
This game is not for those who are easily frightened by graphics, but there are actually some really graphic parts of the game to look at. The burning boat is definitely not for the faint-hearted, and although it looks pretty cool, I wouldn’t recommend this game if you have any fear of heights (I’m sure there were few adults who did not have fear of heights when they played this game!) Stephanie’s personality comes through when she is playing. She can be very quiet and laid back, or she can be loud and crazy as in her fish out of water adventures.
This is definitely a great game for girls that are young at heart. It would be great fun for younger girls to play too. Some parents may think that this game is too childish, but I can assure you that the graphics are for an adult audience only. The game helps to reinforce the beauty of Stephanie as a young girl, and to entertain both boys and girls.
